Life Changes...

I'm pretty much the worst blogger ever. I admit it. I have started a blog three times, each time with the intentions to do better and blog more frequently. I never do. I just don't have the blogging gene I guess. But....with so many recent life changes I decided I needed to update our blog and let everyone know what's been going on.

PREGNANCY

On August 1, 2012 Drew and I found out we were expecting our first baby! I was shocked. No, shocked isn't even the word. I was completely surprised, side-swiped, and emotionally taken out. Drew and I were in no way trying to have a baby at this time in our lives. However, after the initial shock, I am so grateful that God has given us this new experience and I know that it is supposed to be this way. We found out in November that we are having a baby boy!! Drew is out of this world excited to have a son and I can't wait to see him and the baby together. I am due in April, which is now only a few months away. This pregnancy has gone by so quickly and there have been so many changes in our lives during this time but I couldn't ask for a better husband to experience these moments with. I am beyond ready to have our little man here and hold him and love him but I have to have patience because I am only 28 weeks. 12 weeks to go! YAY!! We finally decided on a name (we think): Brooks Drew Robinson. Drew and I finally found a name we both agree on so that's the name we have pretty much decided that's gonna be the final name! Here are some pictures from my pregnancy thus far (please excuse all the mirror pics, I never have anyone to take a picture for me!):

MOVING
At the end of July, our lease in our first apartment in Tucson was up. Drew was planning on graduating in December so we didn't want to sign another year lease. It turned out that my Aunt who lives in town was planning on moving out of her house in a month or two and moving to Alabama with my uncle. We decided it would be great to just move into her house and not have to deal with signing another lease. All has been great but they just bought a new house in Alabama and are now needing to sell the house that we are living in. Drew decided to graduate in May so we have been here since August but because they are selling the house, we needed to find a new place to live. So we are moving...yet again! I am 7 months pregnant and we are moving again for the 3rd time since we've lived in Tucson. And then we will be moving again in May once Drew graduates. Pretty sure we're going to be moving professionals by the time we finally settle down!! But we feel blessed to have a place to live and are excited to finally settle down a little bit before the baby gets here. We are moving this weekend, as in TOMORROW. My parents are coming down with some extra furniture and my dad and Drew will move all the heavy items while my mom and I try to help with some smaller things. It has been stressful to say the least but I am ready to just get it done!

JOB CHANGES
After I found out I was pregnant, Drew and I decided I should try to find a new job where I made a little bit more money. I applied to Wells Fargo and I got the job. I put in my two weeks at the hotel (where I had been working for a year and a half). I was so sad to go but I needed the insurance and extra money that the bank would provide. Wellllll....after a month or two of working at the bank I realized this job wasn't for me. I was working extreme hours (like 50 hours a week!) and I was constantly exhausted. Besides the fact of being pregnant, I was standing on my feet all day. I didn't have any time to exercise or even do anything other than work and sleep. I finally decided to quit that job and see if the hotel would take me back and they did!! I am sooo grateful for the amazing people I work with at the hotel. They have seriously been a lifesaver and I'm now back working at the hotel just part-time. Even though I am not making much money, and we dont have insurance, I have been able to enjoy my pregnancy and enjoy my life! I have been very happy with the way things turned out after quitting my job at the bank.

Anyways, that's pretty much whats been going on in our lives. Drew finished up football in December with an AMAZING end to a bowl game. They beat Nevada in the last two minutes of the game after trailing 21-0 in the first quarter! It was a nail-biter and I am so glad they pulled if off and Drew has a great memory of his last college game. I have been trying to walk every day and just take day-by-day waiting for Brooks to get here. I am so grateful for the support of our families in all the decisions we have made over the past year and the support we are receiving with the pregnancy. We couldn't ask for better families and friends. 2013 is going to be a great year full of surprises and life changes and we can't wait!

looong week :(

It's been so long since I last blogged, but this past week and a half has been SOO hectic. First off, last Tuesday the 28th of August, Drew was hit in practice and went helmet to helmet with an defensive line player. He ended up getting a concussion, and it was a pretty severe one. The next day, Wednesday, he had a fever of 104* and was throwing up. We knew something was wrong because concussions aren't accompanied by fevers. Turns out, he now also has the flu! So we were dealing with a concussion and the flu and all the great things that comes along with that (yuck!). Sooooooo he missed the first home game which was a bummer because all the family came down to watch but it worked out good because on Sunday he was taken to the emergency room because his fever still hadn't broken and he was now experiencing night sweats and a horrible cough. At the emergency room, after about 4 1/2 hours, they told us he has pneumonia. Wow. I couldn't believe it. So we have been drugging him up on antibiotics and just trying to get him healed up and back on the field as soon as possible.

It has been KILLING me to see him suffering so much and so hurt that he hasn't been able to do what he loves, playing football. He will miss the second game also, which is this weekend but we are shooting for the goal of getting him back on the field by next weekend!! I am just so thankful for our families that have helped get us through this. On a positive note, I started my new job today and will begin formal training tomorrow! I am excited and I think this will be a great change for both of us! We will see how it goes in the next few days! Hopefully I can catch on quickly :)

Surprise!!

Soo...Drew's been busy with football camp since the beginning of August. He has recently spent the last few days at an army base south of Tucson called Fort Huachuca. There has been a lot going on in our lives lately and I have been super stressed and my emotions have been out of control. I am really missing my family and friends but there is no way I can afford the plane ticket or the time off of work to go home.. SOOO this morning I called my mom and we were talking and I just found myself crying. I have been so lonely and so stressed and it all just kind of came to a head. My mom told me she'd call me right back and when she did, she told me she was leaving Monroe to come see me!! :) I have the best mom in the world. She had already packed her bags and was on her way. I have the next few days off of work so we will be able to spend some much needed time together! I can't wait. I am soo happy. This is just what I need. Drew also gets home from out-of-town camp tomorrow (but it will continue for the month of August). I cant wait to see him :)

I will post pictures of my mom's visit later!

CALIFORNIA TRIP!!

Before Fall Camp started for Drew, we went with my family to Huntington Beach, CA and enjoyed a family vacation! We had a blast! We went to the beach, to an Angels game, mini golfing, shopping, and celebrated Toni's 20th birthday. It was so much fun to get away from Arizona and spend some time with family. Drew had so much fun boogie boarding for his FIRST time ever!! He picked it up really quickly and we could barely get him and my dad out of the water to leave. They tore it up and loved every minute of it.

It was great to see Sydney because she is now living/working in Dallas, Texas and I don't get to see her hardly at all. Last time I saw her was Christmas :( I am hoping to make a trip to Dallas and see her new place before she gets a new job and moves again!

I will be posting pictures tomorrow ;) I haven't imported them to my computer and its too late now (or i'm lazy...either one!).

Fall Camp

Since the 1st of August, Drew has been in Fall camp for football. That means being gone from 8:30 am until 10 pm or later!! It's suchhh long days and I get so lonely :( I work until 3 but then I get home and have NOTHING to do..This camp lasts all of August and then on September 1st, it's the first football game.. So needless to say we are back in the thick of things. I am excited for the season and probably even more excited that its his last season. It has been fun but it definitely has not been easy. I miss my family/friends in Utah and I know Drew does too. Luckily we have made some friends down here so that has eased the loneliness a bit :)

BACK AT IT!

Sooo here's my umpteenth attempt at blogging. This time I really AM going to keep with it. There is so much going on in our lives down here in Arizona and its good to blog about it and keep some sort of record at least. I am still a newby and trying to figure everything out but I think I am getting the hang of it. In the meantime, my blog may be looking wimpy.
